The Bridge of Humanitarian Cooperation Association (YKD) started on Saturday 27/8 the implementation distributing backpacks project to needy families in the Gaza Strip, funded by charitable Indonesians. Dr. Nabil Sammour, Director-General of the Association, said that the backpacks were distributed to students who suffer from difficult economic conditions that prevented their parents from being able to provide the requirements needed for continuing their educational process. Sammour pointed out that the project is to alleviate the needy families’ suffering, especially in light of the harsh economic conditions in the Gaza Strip, the high prices of school supplies, and the unemployment rates due to the siege imposed on the Strip.
The Board of Directors explained that the YKD aimed at distributing more than 360 backpacks for 360 students from primary and preparatory levels. After ending the first phase of the project, the B.O.D noted that the association is seeking to implement various educational projects (providing financial assistance for needy students, building educational laboratories, assisting needy students whose certificates are withheld until all fees are paid), awaiting funding to complete these projects.
Also, the B.O.D expressed its thanks to the brotherly Indonesians who exert their ultimate efforts to support the Palestinians, commending all the supporters and donors who always help the needy people in the Strip.
